After nearly two years of writing about these two records—The Preludes for bitKlavier and the bitKlavier Commissions—I am delighted that their release, along with a celebratory concert, is set for next week. The records will arrive on Bandcamp and all the usual streaming sites on Tuesday July 23, and our celebration concert, featuring Cristina Altamura and Adam Sliwinski, is on Thursday July 25 in Princeton. and some lovely photos by the incomparable Maria Grazia Facciolà:
I’m super grateful to Cristina and Adam for their collaborative spirits and wicked musicianship; I’d never have made these things with their inspiration! I’m also delighted by the work made by the commissioned composers—Molly Herron, Annika Socolofsky, Chris Douthitt, Noah Fishman, Nate May, Bora Yoon, Jenny Beck, and Pascal Le Boeuf—and look forward to hearing these pieces played by intrepid pianists for years to come (a new release of bitKlavier is coming next week as well, with all the music included).
Once again, read more about each piece here and here…. enjoy!
